Reading time: 2 minutes<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n Editor’s note: In case you missed this event, view the HEC-TV \/ Ä¢¹½´«Ã½ Talks Books\u00a0interview<\/a> with Sam Weller, along with other featured authors<\/a>.<\/em><\/p>\n <\/p>\n Sam Weller<\/strong> Tuesday, Nov. 10, 7 p.m. Lecture, Q&A, And Book Signing Sam Weller is the authorized biographer of Ray Bradbury. His book\u00a0The Bradbury Chronicles: The Life of Ray Bradbury\u00a0(William Morrow) was a\u00a0Los Angeles Times\u00a0bestseller and winner of the 2005 Society of Midland Authors Award for Best Biography. The companion book,\u00a0Listen to the Echoes: The Ray Bradbury Interviews<\/em>, was published by Melville House\/Stop Smiling Books in 2010. With Mort Castle, Weller co-edited the short fiction anthology\u00a0Shadow Show: All-New Stories in Celebration of Ray Bradbury<\/em>\u00a0(William Morrow Paperbacks), winner of the Bram Stoker Award for Superior Achievement in an Anthology. His fourth Bradbury book,\u00a0Ray Bradbury: The Last Interview\u00a0<\/em>was published by Melville House in 2014.<\/p>\n Weller is the former midwest correspondent for\u00a0Publishers Weekly<\/em>. His essays have appeared in the\u00a0Paris Review<\/em>, on the National Public Radio’s<\/em>\u00a0“All Things Considered” program,\u00a0Slate<\/em>\u00a0magazine,\u00a0Huffington Post\u00a0<\/em>and many others. His short fiction has appeared in numerous books, literary journals and magazines. Weller is a frequent lecturer on the life and legacy of Ray Bradbury. He has given over 300 talks around the world. Weller is the associate chair of the Department of Creative Writing at Columbia College Chicago.<\/p>\n * Bradbury\u2019s classic,\u00a0Fahrenheit 451<\/em>, is the Ä¢¹½´«Ã½ Reads book selection for 2015-2016. Events and curriculum planned throughout the year will engage the Ä¢¹½´«Ã½ community in discussion on themes found in the book. Weller\u2019s first campus appearance, at 11:50 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 10, is presented in conjunction with the Ä¢¹½´«Ã½ Reads program.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n
