Visionary Leader Selected to Build on Ä¢¹½´«Ã½\u2019s Legacy of Innovation, Access, and Student Success<\/span><\/i><\/h2>\n

[ST. LOUIS, MO \u2013 February 18, 2025]<\/span><\/b> \u2013<\/span> Ä¢¹½´«Ã½ is pleased to announce that Dr. Daniel Shipp, currently serving as the president of Pittsburg State University,<\/a> will become the next president of Ä¢¹½´«Ã½, effective June 2025. Following an extensive national search Dr. Shipp was selected to succeed Dr. Mark Lombardi, who will retire at the end of the academic year after 18 years of transformational leadership.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The Board of Trustees and the Presidential Search Committee sought a leader who embodies Ä¢¹½´«Ã½\u2019s commitment to innovation, technology-driven learning, and student success. Dr. Shipp emerged as the ideal choice to guide Ä¢¹½´«Ã½ into its next chapter of growth. With a strong track record in higher education leadership and a deep passion for innovation, he is well-positioned to advance the university\u2019s mission and strategic vision.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0“It is an incredible honor to be selected as the next president of Ä¢¹½´«Ã½,\u201d Shipp said. \u201cI am inspired by Ä¢¹½´«Ã½\u2019s bold vision, its commitment to expanding access and opportunity, and its innovative approach to education. Ed Ryan, chair of the Board of Trustees, emphasized the board\u2019s confidence in the selection. “Ä¢¹½´«Ã½ has long been a pioneer in reimagining higher education and will continue to strengthen its national leadership in access, innovation, and student outcomes <\/span>wi<\/span>th Dr. Shipp at the helm. Dan\u2019s background will propel Ä¢¹½´«Ã½ even further, ensuring that we continue transforming higher education.\u201d<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Chris Chadwick, who led the search committee and serves as vice chair of the Board of Trustees, expressed appreciation for the process <\/span>that identified<\/span> Dr. Shipp.<\/span>
